Dear Mr. Donald Larkin, Palo Alto Assistant City Attorney, and Mark Venable,
Assistant Police Chief of Palo Alto:
Given your stance on enacting an ordinance that would prohibit "fixed residentless" people from using vehicles in Palo Alto for the purposes of transporting food, clothes, soccer balls and such or of using their vehicles to sleep in to avoid being exposed to the harsh elements, where do you propose these Palo Altans go? The shelters are all full. Are you suggesting that the ordinance you propose is to push the poor to Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Mateo, San Francisco, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and San Jose? How do you think those communities will feel when you push long time Palo Alto residents who are living out of their vehicles into their communities?
Attached are some pictures with some questions, it be helpful in understanding how you intend to solve the dilemma of poor people living amongst us if you would answer the questions prior to Monday's meeting. Thank you.
